built up frets
unattempted miles.
identity, façade.
of pleasantry,
chivalry,
secrecy.
a world of denial,
enchanted fairy tales,
perfect beginnings,
happy endings,
no dreams pending.
escapist,
credulous,
the world
pernicious,
flagrant,
virulent.
abjure dependence,
expectation,
desires.
for all efforts are
wasted.
fading away
into the abyss of
"could-be's"
"would-be's"
"if only's"
